Hong Kong: One country, One system

When Hong Kong was returned to China in 1997, Chinese government promised in the joint declaration that Hong Kong’s economic and political systems will not be changed for 50 years.

1997年香港回歸時，中國共產黨在中英聯合聲明中，附帶了一個「50年不變」的承諾。今天，在中國共產黨之下，經濟發展前景看好，又有新聞自由、港人自治、司法獨立；是不是萬民擁戴，邁向下一個二十年？

“Many Hong Kong people used to feel more superior than mainlanders because of the rule of law and freedom of speech” that characterized the city, said Yeung Ke-cheong, 35 years old, a candidate disqualified from recent elections for Hong Kong’s 70-member Legislative Council. Nearly half its seats are reserved for constituencies that represent largely pro-Beijing and business interests.

從主流新聞媒體、到港股市值最大的那些公司、到不動產開發特別是公有土地釋出、到立法會的席位、到教育體系內所允許的課綱… 北京對這個特別行政區的掌控度有什麼變化，大家都心知肚明。

今日香港並非明日台灣。台灣肉食者鄙，遠謀無方，近計無格，整體環境鐵定要再慘很久，但至少是自己造成的；驕傲的香港人，淚眼望向他們的自由，道了聲再見。
